When I was invited to blog for Lula Mai Events’ Big Day, I jumped at the chance. Why? Because my business is all about storytelling and I am naturally fascinated by the people behind a business. The Big Day is a series of amazing stories, while at the same time bringing together a whole load of lovely people. So how could I possibly say no?
With the help of Laura from The Escape Artist’s Business Buddy, I’ve set up a blog for The Big Day and we’ll be posting at least once a month in the run up to The Big Day on 3 April 2015.
A series of amazing stories
First of all, there is the story of Lula Mai Events – an events management business, set up in 2013 by a team of military wives from RAF Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire. The Lula Mai team provides bespoke and affordable event planning and styling, décor and chair cover hire. In a real spirit of support and collaboration, they also promote a hub of other small businesses supplying related services. So Lula Mai is already making a big difference in their local community.
However, the team was not content with this or with merely raising money for a local cause. At the beginning of 2014, they decided that they wanted to do something different for someone in the military or emergency services and their loved one – something that would make a real, visible difference.
So they teamed up with the gorgeous venue Witney Lakes Resort to provide a deserving couple with the wedding of their dreams.
The generosity of suppliers has been astonishing
Then there is the story of the local wedding suppliers who are donating their services to The Big Day. As soon as the resort was confirmed, the Lula Mai team started working tirelessly to source everything else the lucky couple would need for the wedding of their dreams, including wedding dress, wedding bands, cake and photography. The generosity of suppliers has been amazing and The Big Day is really bringing the local wedding community together.
The bride and groom’s story
Last but absolutely not least is the story of the chosen couple whose Big Day it will be on 3 April 2015. Ross and Emma were selected from the raft of impressive applications that Lula Mai received. My next blog for Lula Mai will be to tell Ross and Emma’s story and I cannot wait to meet them!
It is such a pleasure to be involved in a project that is doing so much good and benefitting everyone involved. Rachel, Sally and Christina, thank you for asking me to participate in The Big Day. I’m looking forward to telling the story as it unfolds over the next few months.
When we knew we wanted to build a dedicated blog for our unique project, only one name came up, Lucy, we were certain right from the outset that Lucy’s style of creative writing, coupled with her passion, charm and wonderfully easy nature was the perfect choice for us.
We have not been disappointed, Lucy undertakes each editorial with professionalism whilst mixing her a sense of easy familiarity and confidence that allows you to really tell the story behind your business. To showcase the hard work you’ve put in and the passion that’s fuelled and driven your company thus far. If you can’t identify your story, Lucy is adept at finding it for you and showing you how great you and your business really are.
We really cannot find enough superlatives to tell you how highly we rate this beautiful and skilled lady and we wholeheartedly endorse Lucy and Blue Penguin Communications as the story teller for your businesses.
Laura’s input has been critical as she has helped to setup and run all the technical issues created with running a successful blog, we have given Laura individual thanks and feedback on her site too.
